Jammu & Kashmir beat Pondicherry by 3-0 in Mini National V’ball Championship

JAMMU: On the 2nd day of 23rd Mini National Volleyball Championship, J and K boys team beat Pondicherry by straight 3-0 (25-22, 25-10, 25-12) sets whereas J&K Girls team got walkover from Madhya Pradesh in the Mini National Volleyball Championship being organised by Tamil Nadu State Volleyball Championship under the aegis of Volleyball Federation of India at Erode (Tamil Nadu) on Thursday.
In boys team Rohit, Imtiyaz and Murtaz displayed their skills including spikes efficiently and enthralled the audience.
The boys team is being imparted coaching under the guidance of Mohd Tariq Coach and Subash Shastri Manger respectively.
In girls team Balwinder Singh Jamwal is working as Coach and Neelam Sharma as Manager respectively.
J and K boys team will meet Maharashtra and Utter Pradesh in next matches under ‘Pool B’ whereas in girls section J and K team will meet Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh and Kerala in ‘Pool C’ in the ensuing matches.
In all 37 teams including 19 boys and 18 girls sections drawn from different parts of the country are in the fray to achieve the National Championship.
According to V.K Magotra, Hony General Secretary, Volleyball Association of J and K, despite contrast climatic conditions of Southern India, J and K players are showing good performance to achieve desired results in the National Championship which will conclude on 31st May, 2015.
