Prime Minister Narendra Modi deserves applause for taking an initiative in developing relations with China. The present visit has been well-utilised if the number and areas of cooperation are considered. As many as 24 agreements covering areas from skills development to railways have been signed. Though the border dispute is yet to be resolved, instead of raising jingoistic hype, we must view it as a leftover of the colonial times and undertake to solve it through peaceful means. The new agreements will boost ties and give a fillip to the atmosphere of mutual confidence.
