Several roads in Poonch restored

POONCH: The road connectivity to Khanetar, Bhainchh, Kanuyian, Mangnar, Dara Dullian, Jhulas and Salotri villages, which was cut off for over a week due to damage to the Sher-e-Kashmir Bridge and massive landslides on the highway at Kalai and Khanetar, has been restored.
District Development Commissioner, Mohammed Hussain Malik, along with Senior Superintendent of Police, Shamsheer Hussain Choudhary visited this area to take stock of the problems faced by the people due to snapping of road link.
Malik said that this will further facilitate the smooth supply of essential commodities and medicines, which were being transported via Mendhar-KG route to the affected people.
Meanwhile, Malik also visited the flood hit area of Dundhak to take stock of the extent of damage caused to Dundhak Bridge, houses, crops, fruit plants etc.
The DDC while supervising, on daily basis, the ongoing work of restoration of drinking water supply schemes in the district expressed concern over the havoc caused by the flash floods to the water supply schemes, he directed the officers of PHE Department to ensure proper treatment of drinking water before distribution to prevent any outbreak of water borne diseases.
