SRINAGAR: To provide succour to the flood sufferers, Jammu and Kashmir Police is organising medical and relief camps at different locations in the flood hit areas. In this regard such a Camp was organised by Jammu and Kashmir Armed Police at Girls Higher Secondary School Pohru Nowgam here today.
Doctors from Srinagar Police Hospital treated a large number of people and provided required medicines free of cost to the patients. They advised the people about the precautions to be taken post floods to avoid water borne and other deceases. Various food items were distributed among the people during the day long camp.
The camp was organised on the directions of Additional Director General of Police (Armed), S.M Sahai, who is personally supervising the relief activities in flood hit areas.
Commandant, Armed Police 9th, Altaf Ahmed Khan, who was the coordinator for the Camp, disclosed that a large number of inhabitants of the area were provided medical aid and assistance during the camp. People of the area have hailed the activity taken by Jammu and Kashmir Police.
