Omar asks Admn to resolve public issues

SRINAGAR: National Conference Working President and MLA Beerwah, Omar Abdullah on Monday toured various areas of Beerwah Constituency and interacted with the locals to ascertain the status of various local grievances.
The NC Working President took note of the public grievances and held detailed meetings with the officers of R&B, Health, Irrigation and Flood Control, Food and Supplies, PDD and PHE Departments and directed the administration to resolve the public issues in a time-bound and effective manner. The NC Working President was accompanied by various senior officials during his tour and meetings who were given on-spot directions to resolve the issues raised by the people.
Omar asked the officers of R&B Department to assess the damage caused to the roads in Beerwah Constituency by the recent floods, land-slides and incessant rains. He asked them to start restoration work on these roads without any delay and also said the State Government should understand the grave condition of roads across the Valley and take immediate steps to restore them.
Omar also asked officials of the Health Department to review the inadequacies and vacancies at Primary Health Centers and fill these vacancies at the earliest so that no inconvenience is caused to the people. Omar also asked the Health Department Officials to ascertain the status and condition of the Sub-District Hospital Beerwah and ensure that it functions smoothly without any issues or inadequacies in staff or equipment and infrastructure.
He also held a meeting with officials of the Irrigation and Flood Control Department and asked them to ensure the proper repair of embankments of Nallahs and canals that had suffered damage due to the floods and incessant rainfall recently. He also asked the officials to ensure that irrigation canals and link-canals are restored effectively and without any delay so that farmers and cultivators get adequate irrigation water and don’t suffer on this account.
Omar Abdullah in his meeting with officials of the Food and Supplies Department highlighted the issue of inadequate ration distribution in certain areas and asked the officials to ensure all depots are well stocked and that there is no snag in the system resulting in curtailed or impaired ration distribution.
He also directed the PDD officials to conduct repairs on all power transformers that are faulty and to ensure replacement of non-functioning transformers without delays.
