NEW DELHI: Considering large-scale devastation due to heavy rains and floods in Jammu and Kashmir, the Central Board of Direct Taxes (CBDT) in exercise of power conferred under Section 119 of the Income Tax Act 1961, has extended the due date for filing income tax returns from 30th September, 2014 to 30th November 2014.
In case of income tax assessees in Jammu and Kashmir who as per clause (a) of Explanation 2 to sub-section (1) of the section 139 of the Income Tax Act, 1961 were liable to file their income tax returns by 30th September 2014, according to a press release issued by Union Ministry of Finance, Department of Revenue, CBDT on Tuesday.
