Live rocket shell found in Kishtwar, defused

Kishtwar: In a major achievement for security forces, a live rocket launcher shell was found in the Bindraban area of Kishtwar district on Friday afternoon, prompting heightened security measures in the region.
According to officials, a tourist who had come to the popular picnic spot at Bindraban noticed a suspicious object resembling a rocket shell and immediately informed the security forces.
Acting swiftly on the information, security personnel rushed to the spot and secured the area. The suspected rocket launcher shell was taken into custody to prevent any potential danger.
Later, a Bomb Disposal Squad was called to the scene. The team carefully shifted the live shell to a safer location where it was destroyed in a controlled operation.
Meanwhile, security forces have cordoned off the area and launched a search operation in the surroundings to rule out the presence of any other explosive material.
Authorities have urged the public to remain vigilant and report any suspicious objects or activities to the nearest security agency.
