JAMMU: Additional Deputy Commissioner Jammu, Ansuya Jamwal on Wednesday chaired a meeting to review preparedness and arrangements for the forthcoming Christmas celebrations in Jammu.
Threadbare discussion was held on the smooth conduct of religious processions, traffic management and regulation, besides sanitation and cleanliness measures in priority areas.
The ADC asked the Jammu Municipal Corporation representatives to ensure intensified cleanliness drives and round-the-clock monitoring at key locations. The ADC further directed for checking of street lights and immediate repair/replacement wherever required.
The meeting also reviewed provision of essential commodities, besides stepping up food safety checks and legal metrology inspections to ensure quality supply and fair trade practices.
Directions were issued to ensure reliable supply of electricity and water and for prompt redressal of any contingency. Inputs and suggestions received from community representatives were noted and inter-departmental coordination was reviewed to ensure seamless facilitation during the festive period.
