JAMMU: Sham Lal Sharma, MLA Jammu North, on Monday formally laid the foundation stone for an Overhead Water Tank at Panchayat Kot Lower Ghari (B), a project estimated to cost Rs 50 lakh.
This major initiative is set to provide clean, reliable, and adequate drinking water to the residents, addressing a long-pending demand and bringing significant relief to households facing persistent water scarcity. Once completed, the project will ensure a consistent and safe supply of potable water, marking a crucial developmental step for the area.
Sham Lal Sharma emphasized that this project is fully aligned with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of “Har Ghar Nal Se Jal”-clean and safe drinking water for every household. He reiterated that Jammu North is committed to achieving this mission, and substantial efforts are being made to strengthen water supply infrastructure across the constituency so that every family benefits from improved and sustainable access to drinking water.
Sharma instructed the concerned officials to ensure strict quality control, use of approved materials, and proper technical supervision throughout the construction of the water tank. He stressed that transparency, accountability, and timely completion are essential for the successful execution of all public projects. He also expressed gratitude to the people for their continuous cooperation and support, noting that collective efforts of residents, officials, and local representatives play a vital role in achieving sustainable progress in Jammu North.
Officers from the Jal Shakti (PHE) Department were present at the ceremony, including Er. Sandeep (AEE), Jal Shakti PHE Division Kandi-Ist, and AE Ashish Sharma. Also in attendance were Former Sarpanch Hari Sharan, District President Kisan Morcha Rakesh Singh, Mandal President Rohit Verma, along with other dignitaries and Locals from Panchayat Kote Lower Garhi (B).
