Hiteshwar, Suvidha to represent India in Roll Ball World Cup

JAMMU: In a proud moment for Jammu and Kashmir, Hiteshwar Singh and Suvidha Sareen, have been officially selected to represent India at the 7th Senior Roll Ball World Cup 2025 scheduled to be held in Dubai.

Organized by the International Roll Ball Federation (IRBF), the Senior World Cup is a prestigious global tournament that brings together top athletes from around the world. The event is set to take place in Dubai from December 14 to December 18, with participation expected from over 30 Nations, a handout issued by the Roll Ball Association of J&K here today informed.
Both athletes earned their place on the national squad following their exceptional performance at the 20th Senior National Championship, held in Indore (M.P) in October last. Hiteshwar and Suvidha have consistently showcased remarkable skill, unwavering dedication, and exemplary sportsmanship in the field of Roll Ball.
Expressing their happiness on being selected, they said, “It is a dream come true to wear the Indian jersey once again and compete on the world stage. We are deeply grateful to our coaches, parents, and mentors who have supported us throughout our journey. We will leave no stone unturned to keep the Indian flag flying high and aim for a podium finish.”
Madhu Sharma, Head Coach of the Indian Senior Roll Ball Team, along with Rita Rehan, Assistant Coach of the women’s team, expressed immense pride in the duo and conveyed confidence in their ability to shine internationally.
Meanwhile, Jammu andd Kashmir Roll Ball Association congratulated Hiteshwar Singh and Suvidha on the achievement and extended best wishes for a successful campaign in Dubai.
Notably, Secretary Sports Council, Nuzhat Gul, has also been invited by the International Roll Ball Federation as a Special Guest for the World Cup, the handout added.
Before departing for Dubai, both athletes will attend the preparatory Coaching Camp in Pune, commencing from November 10. The Indian contingent will leave for Dubai on December 13.
