STATE TIMES NEWS
JAMMU: “Marks fade, but the skills you create beyond them become your true signature in life”. With this insightful statement Saba Choudhary from Grade 7th Falcon alongwith her classmates presented the morning assembly on the topic “Reading beyond Academics” at JKPS Kunjwani. Adding more substance to deliberations on the stage, Fatima Noor stated, “Reading is not just a school task, it’s a journey of the mind and heart. It helps us to imagine, grow and become a better version of ourselves”.

Taking the discussion a notch higher, Naksh added, “Life skills, like, communication, problem-solving, and time management often shape success more than grades alone. Teamwork in sports, clubs, or projects teaches leadership and how to handle different personalities at once”.
“Hobbies and passions like art, music or coding can spark creativity and it can even turn it into our careers. Self discipline in daily habits like exercise, sleep and planning has long term benefits for both mind and body”, he concluded.
Under the segment Quotations, Raza quoted JK Rowling, “Think before you speak, read before you think”. Krisha referred to L. Hark, “Books are not just for school; they are windows to wonder”.
Musadiq quoted Rowling, “If you don’t like to read, you haven’t found the right book”. Navneet referred to Dr. Seuss, “The more you learn, the more places you will go”. Gurtej quoted Carlos Ruiz Zabon, “Books are mirrors – you only see in them what you already have inside you”.
Applauding the presenters for enlightening the audience, Principal JKPS Kujwani, Rajesh Rathore said, “Beyond textbooks is the true essence of lifelong learning. It broadens perspectives, nurtures imagination, and builds emotional intelligence that no syllabus can ever encompass. I urge every student to cultivate the beautiful habit of reading – not merely as an academic task, but as a joyful daily ritual”.
“Let every home have its own personal library, however small – a corner filled with books that inspire, inform, and ignite curiosity. For it is within those pages that young minds find the courage to dream, the wisdom to decide, and the power to transform their world”, he summed up.
