JAMMU: “Self-induced discipline among youth can elevate our nation to the rank of global superpowers,” asserted Homera Jabeen, student of Grade 7th Falcon, while conducting the morning assembly alongwith her classmates on the theme ‘Importance of Self-Discipline in Life’.

Adding more substance, Aashriya Gupta stated, “Discipline is the compass that directs one toward excellence. It helps us adhere to rules and complete our tasks within a stipulated timeframe. It acts as a catalyst that expedites progress and empowers individuals to achieve their dreams. It is our pole star guiding us towards our destination.”
Taking the discussion a notch higher, Anshpreet Singh highlighted the role of discipline in effective time management. “Disciplined individuals manage their hours wisely and focus on meaningful pursuits,” he said. “A proactive approach – creating a schedule and adhering to it with perseverance – ensures long-term success.” During the Quotations Segment, the students shared inspiring thoughts from eminent personalities:
Tiana Sharma quoted Jim Rohn: “Discipline is the bridge between goals and accomplishment”. Bhavya Sharma cited Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam: “Self-control and self-discipline are real power”. Saira Mahajan referred to Naval Ravikant: “The price of discipline is always less than the pain of regret”. Mohd. Assad invoked Sir Francis Bacon: “A man must so command his passions that he makes them his servants, not his masters”. Basit shared Stephen Hawking’s wisdom: “Self-discipline is the silent strength behind every success; when you master yourself, you master everything”.
In his concluding remarks, Principal JKPS Kunjwani Rajesh Rathore commended the young presenters for their thoughtful insights and said, “Discipline must be self-induced, never imposed. Imposed discipline is temporary, but self-inspired discipline is eternal. Educational institutions must continuously strive to nurture this spirit among students so they grow into conscientious citizens and torchbearers of moral integrity.”
He further urged teachers, parents, and elders to lead by example: “Every child mirrors the conduct of their mentors and elders. Therefore, it becomes our moral responsibility to embody the values of righteousness, sincerity, and restraint – for children learn more from what we do than what we say.”
