Register FIR against PDP’s Iltija Mufti for toeing separatism, spreading communal hatred: Zorawar

JAMMU: BJP spokesperson for Jammu and Kashmir, Zorawar Singh Jamwal, has strongly condemned PDP leader Iltija Mufti’s recent remarks, accusing her of spreading communal hatred and toeing separatist lines. He demanded immediate registration of an FIR against her under relevant sections of the law.
Iltija Mufti, daughter of former Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti, had recently released a video in which, according to Jamwal, she made statements that were “provocative, factually incorrect, and aimed at inciting communal disharmony.” He termed the remarks “irresponsible” and “a deliberate attempt to distort facts, polarize communities, and create fear for political mileage.”
Zorawar Singh alleged that Iltija’s comments reflect the politics of appeasement and division that the PDP continues to practice. “Such statements insult the intelligence of the people and pose a direct threat to the unity and integrity of the nation. Silence from authorities will only embolden such divisive voices,” he warned.
Calling for legal action, Jamwal said the administration must not allow political figures to misuse their platform to spread misinformation and hatred. “The PDP’s declining political relevance is evident in such desperate and inflammatory rhetoric,” he added.
He also emphasized that India, under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership, stands for democracy, inclusiveness, and peace. “Those who attempt to destabilize the region and divide communities through malicious propaganda must be held accountable,” he said.
The BJP, Jamwal reiterated, will continue to stand firmly for peace, unity, and national integrity, and will expose any attempt to incite violence or communal division. The party has urged law enforcement agencies to take swift and firm action to maintain communal harmony in Jammu and Kashmir and protect the peace-loving citizens of the region.
