POWERGRID provides 128 Slice CT Scan Machine at Govt Hospital Gandhi Nagar under CSR

JAMMU: Power Grid Corporation of India Limited (POWERGRID), a Maharatna PSU under Ministry of Power, Government of India, has provided one 128 Slice CT Scan Machine to Directorate of health services, Jammu for Gandhi Nagar Hospital to strengthen the medical infrastructure of Jammu District.

Tarun Bajaj, Executive Director, POWERGRID, Northern Region-II and Jasbir Singh, Executive Director, CC-CSR ,POWERGRID handed over the128 Slice Hi-end CT machine to Dr. Abdul Hamid Zargar, Director Health Services Jammu in the presence of Senior officers of POWERGRID and Dr. Harbaksh Singh, CMO, Jammu on Tuesday. The cost of this CT Scan machine is around Rs 6.5 crore. This CSR effort of POWERGRID will augment the existing health infrastructure in Jammu division will support the hospital located in Gandhi Nagar in District Jammu to provide medical services to nearby towns and villages. Since this hospital is the only main medical support infrastructure in these areas, this latest technology machine will provide great comfort to the populace of these areas which otherwise have to visit other hospitals in Jammu city. The authorities of the health department, Jammu thanked POWERGRID for providing this state of Art hi-end equipment and requested POWERGRID to continue contributing to the health infrastructure development in Jammu. Under CSR activities, health sector is one of the thrust area of POWERGRID especially in the govern-ment hospitals of rural and urban areas across the country with the belief that adequate medical infrastructure is important for well being of the general masses. During last three years, POWERGRID has taken up many CSR initiatives in Jammu province amounting to Rs 31 crore.
