Traffic Plan & Advisory for August 19
TRAFFIC POLICE HEADQUARTERS, J&K, JAMMU/SRINAGAR
- From 17-08-2025, 1600 hrs. to 18-08-2025, 1600 hrs., Jammu-Srinagar NHW remained blocked 02 hrs. 40 mins due to landslides/shooting stones at several places. Slow movement was observed on NH-44 due to breakdown of 04 HMVs, single lane traffic at Nashri-Dalwas and between Marog & Kishtwari Pather.
- In view of inclement weather prediction issued by MeT Deptt. a long spell of rainfall for next few days. People are advised to undertake journey only after confirming the status of road from TCU Srinagar/Ramban/Jammu and check status of roads at J&K Traffic Police Twitter handle and face book page.
- Passengers/LMV operators are advised to undertake journey on Jammu-Srinagar NHW during day time only as the HMVs/Load carriers are plying during night hours and there is apprehension of shooting stones/landslides due to rainy season between Ramban and Banihal.
- Goods carrier (HMV/LMV) Operators carrying fresh perishable/live stock are advised to load their vehicle as per advisory issued by Traffic Police Headquarters time to time as there is single lane traffic and poor condition of road at Nashri-Dalwas and between Marog & Kishtwari Pather on Jammu Srinagar NHW.
- HMVs Operators/Owners are requested to desist from overloading and carry sufficient fuel during journey on Jammu-Srinagar NHW. It is further requested that vehicle owners must double check the fitness of their vehicles and carry sufficient fuel before undertaking journey on Jammu-Srinagar NHW.
- HMVs with only 06 and 10 tyres shall be allowed to ply through Dhar road.
- Commuters are advised to avoid unnecessary haltage between Ramban and Banihal especially near landslide/shooting stone area.
TRAFFIC PLAN & ADVISORY FOR 19-08-2025:-
NH-44 (NHW)
Subject to fair weather and better road conditions LMVs Passenger/Private Cars/HMVs shall be allowed from both sides on Jammu-Srinagar NHW (NH-44) viz from Jammu towards Srinagar and vice-versa. TCU Jammu/Srinagar shall liaise with TCU Ramban for road condition. Commuters are requested to check NH 44 status at J&K Traffic Police Twitter handle and face book page. Kishtwar- Sinthan- Anantnag NH-244:-
In view of the weather forecast and prevailing inclement weather conditions, vehicular movement shall remain closed on Kishtwar-Sinthan-Anantnag road as per advisory issued by SDM Kokernag vide No. SDM/KNG/25-26/1847-53 dated 18-08-2025. SSG ROAD
Subject to fair weather and good road condition, (after getting green signal from the BRO) traffic movement shall be allowed on regulated manner on Srinagar-Sonamarg-Gumari road. LMVs followed by HMVs shall be allowed from Minamarg towards Srinagar at 0500 hrs. to 1000 hrs. Similarly, LMVs followed by HMVs shall be allowed from Sonamarg towards Kargil at 1130 hrs to 1730 hrs . No vehicle shall be allowed after cut off timing.
SFs Convoy, plying from Srinagar to Kargil and vice versa shall plan their movement in such a manner so that Yatra convoys (both UP and DOWN) don’t get disturbed. Mughal Road:-
Mughal road is closed due to landslides/shooting stones at several places. Vehicular movement shall be allowed after getting green signal from BRO.
