JAMMU: On August 8, 2025, the campus of J.K. Public School, Kunjwani resonated with festive cheer and cultural splendour as students and staff came together to celebrate the sacred festival of Raksha Bandhan through a vibrant and emotionally enriching special assembly.

The event was a beautiful confluence of tradition, talent, and thoughtful reflection, graced by the presence of Principal Rajesh Rathore; Vice Principal Roopinder Kour; School Coordinator Inderjeet Kour; Academic Coordinator Parminder Kaur, Primary wing Coordinator Anju Raj and Toddlers’ World Coordinator Shivangani Pandotra, along with an enthusiastic gathering of teachers and students. The morning assembly began with the school prayer, setting a tone of reverence and unity for the day’s proceedings.
The celebration unfolded with a well-researched narration by Haresees Kour of Class IX-B, who eloquently shared the legend of Daanveer Raja Bali, highlighting the spiritual and cultural dimensions of Raksha Bandhan. Her storytelling beautifully conveyed the festival’s essence as a symbol of protection, trust, and love.
A heartwarming skit by the young learners of the Primary Wing brought alive the emotional depth of sibling bonds, delighting the audience with innocence and authenticity. This was followed by a reflective narration on how Raksha Bandhan goes beyond familial relationships to honour the universal values of care, unity, and mutual respect.
The assembly reached its emotional crescendo with a soulful performance of the tiny tots from the Toddlers’ World, who stole everyone’s heart. Their dance steps, vibrant faces, brimming with joy and enthusiasm, encapsulated the spirit of the festival-a celebration of bonds that transcend blood, weaving ties of love, harmony, and protection across all relationships.
Speaking on the occasion, Principal Rajesh Rathore expressed heartfelt appreciation for the students and teachers who brought the spirit of Raksha Bandhan alive through such soulful performances. He emphasized how festivals like these not only celebrate cultural heritage but also nurture values of empathy, respect, and emotional bonding among students. “Raksha Bandhan is not just about tying a thread; it is about reinforcing the thread of humanity, trust, and togetherness. I am immensely proud of the way our students portrayed the true essence of this festival,” he remarked.
He also urged everyone to carry forward these values in their daily lives, building a more compassionate and inclusive community.
