JAMMU: Accusing the BJP of being anti-women and shielding its Ex-MLA RS Pathania who had conspired an assault on Panthers leader Manju Singh, scores of Mahila Panthers activists spearheaded by Adv. Kesar Parveen Joint Secretary, Rajni Sambyal District President Samba, Rajni Jamwal and others staged a massive protest demonstration outside BJP office in Jammu today. A huge contingent of JK-Police deployed outside the BJP office restrained the protesters from marching further.
While having scuffle with the police force, the infuriated women protesters raising anti-BJP slogans and sought immediate expulsion of Pathania followed by his arrest.
Speaking to the media, Advocate Kesar Parveen condemned the gruesome incident when BJP goons assaulted Panthers Party’s candidate from DDC Khoon Manju Singh at village Kail in Majalta when she was heading to address a public meeting.
She revealed that one of the goons who was heavily drunk caused restraint of Singh, pulled her out of her vehicle, physically assaulted her and threatened her not to dare visit the village of the said Ex-MLA again for votes.
The ruffian further admitted that he was provided liquor by the said Ex-MLA Pathania and his brother and was sent by the Ex-BJP MLA Pathania to “teach a lesson” to NPP candidate Manju Singh for having organized a meeting in his native Panchayat.
A FIR was lodged in Majalta Police Station and subsequently the medical test confirmed that he was heavily drunk, disclosed Kesar Parveen.
She said while the goon abused, misbehaved and physically assaulted the female candidate of NPP, the mastermind behind the entire episode was R.S Pathania who conspired, provoked and abetted the said offences by using a poor man.
“It is unfortunate that all complaints filed against him earlier have been disregarded and a sort of immunity given to him by the political clout which has emboldened him to the extent that he is openly issuing life threats besides causing assaults upon men and even women opponents. It is further to mention that he had abetted and organized a similar attack on Manju Singh around a year back at Kuh-Nallah on Udhampur-Ramnagar road. Why he is still moving scot free? Why he has not been arrested until now?”, questioned Parveen.
Rajni Sambyal while launching a scathing attack on BJP asked why justice was not doled to Priya Jaral , the senior BJP mahila leader who unveiled the profligate character of the Saffron leaders.
She said that gutsy Jaral had explicitly revealed on the social media that women BJP leaders were only promoted in the party if they compromised with their modesty. “Shame on BJP for nurturing and shielding misogynist leaders. You must peep into your dirty laundry before raising fingers at some one. BJP is a clan of lechers, goons and ruffians who could go to any extent for dirty interests. Why is BJP silent over the issue? Where is your ‘naari samman’ now?”, rebuked Rajni.
“Our memories of that ordeal have not faded away when the women folk was assaulted by the police on the directions of the erstwhile BJP partnered govt. Its heart wrenching to disclose that several of them were pregnant and few had suffered miscarriage. How could one forget the infamous Hathras case when a Dalit rape and murder victim was unceremoniously cremated at night with Kerosene oil in full public view? This is the fate of our daughters in India under BJP regime. “Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao” slogan is just a Jumla which is not sellable anymore”, Rajni Jamwal asserted.
Mahila Panthers leaders regretted that despite lodging FIR against the ‘rowdy and notorious’ MLA RS Pathania, no action had been taken against him by the authorities concerned. They sought his immediate arrest of the ex-BJP MLA for conspiring the deadly attack on Manju Singh. Strongly condemning the BJP for vandalizing the NPP office a day ago, the leaders sought appropriate punitive action against the offenders who trespassed into the Party office and causing damage to office property.
Prominent among those who spoke on the occasion included Renu Singh, Jyoti Kaushal, Neelam, Kirna Kohli, Sunita Bhagat, Poonam Verma, Rashmi Verma, Kajal Devi, Sudesh Kumari, Santosh Kumari, Anju Devi, Soma Devi, Geeta Devi besides others.
