DB grants time to apprise court for constitution of CPCR

JAMMU: In a Public Interest Litigations (PILs) have been filed in the Jammu and Kashmir High Court concerning the establishment and functioning of the State Commission for Protection of Child Rights (CPCR) in the Union Territory, on Monday when the matter was taken-up for hearing Senior Additional Advocate General A.R. Malik, with reference to the averment made in para 7 of the status report dated May 29, 2025, submits that the process as regards the scrutiny of the applications, received by respondent authority, is in progress. A Division Bench of Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh High Court Comprising Chief Justice Arun Palli and Justice Rajnesh Oswal observed that as indicated in the affidavit shall be concluded within four weeks from today, whereupon, not much time would be required to constitute the State Commission for Protection of Child Rights.
DB adjourned the matter for August 13, 2025 to apprise this Court of the further progress made in this regard.
