Multi-crore fraud in Jammu; CB books officers of Baba Infratech Corporation

Delhi based company dupes several Jammu based shopkeepers of their hard earned money

JAMMU: The Crime Branch (CB) on Thursday booked top ranking officers of Baba Infratech Corporation for committing multi-crore fraud with reputed shopkeepers of Jammu and duping them of their huge hard earned money.
“Nearly a dozen victim shopkeepers of Jammu lodged a joint complaint with CB alleging therein that accused Tanveer Choudhary, son of Salim Choudhary, resident of Jaipur, Rajasthan and Anindo Achinto Banarjee, son of Achinto Banarjee, resident of Elanza Mal West Mumbai, who introduced themselves as top authorized officers of Baba Infratech Corporation, approached them and duped them on the pretext of providing hi-fi shops at prime locations in Jammu city at nominal rent for two decades .
The complainants couldn’t see through the peculiar modus- operandi adopted by the accused and accepted the offers. Thereafter the accused went under ground and could never be contacted,” CB official said.
Apart from the complainants who approached CB for action under law after getting duped of Rs 1.70 crore , there are several other victims of this big fraud and duped amount goes to several crores, official added.
Senior Superintendent of Police Crime Jammu Benam Tosh has confirmed that FIR 23 /2025 has been registered and investigation of this case has been entrusted to a investigating officer of the rank of Deputy Superintendent of Police having varied experience.
