JAMMU: “Success is not final, failure is not fatal; it is the courage to continue the counts”. With this impactful opening statement Mehransh and Saksham of Grade 8 Falcon conducted the Morning assembly alongwith their classmates on the topic “Optimism” at JK Public School Kunjwani.

“Optimism is the belief that good things happen and challenge can be overcome. It’s about believing that no matter how tough the road gets, there is always a way forward; change to grow and an opportunity to find light even in the darkest of times. Optimism helps in staying motivated, reducing stress and building confidence. For example, when you fail a test an optimist would say ‘I will work hard and do better next time’. By staying positive, optimism helps us lead better and more fulfilling life”, added Zakariya.
Adding more substance to the transaction, Shiva pitched in by saying, “We are living in a world where challenges are inevitable, whether it’s facing difficult exams, overcoming personal struggles or dealing with unexpected changes, we all encounter moments of doubt. But amidst these difficulties there are something incredibly important we can choose to hold onto our attitude, and that attitude is optimism”.
Under the segment Quotations, Siddhani quoted Emest Hemingway, “Optimism can keep a fool from accepting failure”. Rayand referred to Stephen King, “You can you should and if you are brave enough to start then you will”. Rajveer quoted Hellen Keller, “Optimism is the faith that leads to achievement. Nothing can be done without Hope and Confidence”.
Chirag quoted Dalai Lama ,”Choose to be optimistic, it feels better”. Arhan referred to Jim, Thomas, “Say something positive, and you will see something positive”. Adrees quoted William James, “Pessimism leads to weakness, optimism leads to power”. Akriti referred to L.M Motmery, “Isn’t it nice to think that tomorrow is a new day with no mistakes in it yet”.
Principal JKPS Kunjwani Rajesh Rathore appreciated all the presenters for enthusing the audience with optimism and stated, “Life is full of ups and downs, but it is our perspective that shapes how we respond to those situations. Optimism allows us to see opportunities in obstacles and strength in struggles. It is the belief that every setback is temporary and that perseverance will lead to success”.
“As students, optimism can help you in many ways, whether it’s preparing for exams, participating in competitions, or pursuing your dreams, an optimistic outlook will give you the courage to try and the resilience to bounce back when things don’t go as planned”, he added.
“Optimism is not just about wishful thinking; it requires action. Believe in yourself, work hard, and maintain a positive attitude even when faced with challenges. Surround yourself with supportive people, and don’t hesitate to ask for help when needed. Let’s spread optimism in the same way as a tree exhales oxygen. A kind word, a helping hand, or a simple smile can brighten someone else’s day. Always remember: Optimism is the key to unlock our true potential”, he concluded.
