JK Public School Panjtirthi celebrates Lohri with fervour

JAMMU: Festival of Lohri was celebrated in all its solemnity and grandeur at JK Public School (JKPS) Panjtirthi.
The entire atmosphere of the school was absorbed in the festive spirit and echoed the melodious vocals of “Sunder Munderiye Ho” and the vivacious singing and dance performances of students assimilated the feelings of the festival.
The students and teachers sang songs immersed in rich cultural folklore of Punjab.
Jakiians expressed, “This harvest festival marks the conclusion of the winter solstice, ushering in longer days and shorter nights.”
The energy, confidence, matchless dialogue delivery and vibrant costumes of the Participants were eye catching.
The Principal of JKPS Panjtirthi, Suman Banbah greeted Happy lohri to one and all and encouraged the students to value their cultural heritage. Lohri is a celebration of joy, gratitude, and cultural richness that unites people in the warmth of togetherness. This vibrant festival, steeped in traditions and rituals, reminds us to honor nature’s blessings and cherish the bonds we share with our loved ones.
The festival is commemorated by the lighting of a holy bonfire, which is considered as a symbol of fertility, auspiciousness, and good fortune.
The Principal lit the Lohri bonfire and the staff members distributed Rewari, peanuts, popcorn etc. among all. Everyone offered their prayers to the sacred fire and wished each other ‘Happy Lohri’
It was a gala time as the students danced around the holy bonfire.
The principal rewarded each participant and teacher incharge of the celebration with cash prizes for performing flawlessly.
