Sofi Club Dadkaie retains 36th Doda District Volleyball Championship trophy

BHADERWAH: The 36th Doda District Volleyball Championship, organized by the Volleyball Association of J&K in collaboration with the J&K Sports Council, concluded on Wednesday at Govt. Degree College Bhaderwah.
The championship saw last year’s winner, Sofi Club, retain their title by defeating Thathri Volleyball Club in a thrilling final, with a score of 3-1 in sets (25-19, 19-25, 25-23, 25-22).
In the semifinals, Thathri Volleyball Club triumphed over Bhatyas Volleyball Club with a 2-1 set victory (21-25, 29-27, 25-20). Sofi Club Dadkaie also secured a place in the final by defeating Sinoo Volleyball Club 2-0 (25-17, 25-23).

A total of 13 teams from various far-flung areas of Doda district, including Gandoh, Bhalessa, Sinoo, Dadkaie, Changa, Thathri, Chinta, Seri, Jai, and Bhatyas, participated in the championship.
The Chief Guest at the event was ADC Bhaderwah, Sunil Kumar, who emphasized the importance of sports in transforming society and urged youth to participate in such events to combat issues like pollution and drug addiction.
He also expressed gratitude to the organizers for advocating drug de-addiction and for identifying talented volleyball players for J&K and National Championships.
Prof. Rakesh Sharma, Principal of GDC Bhaderwah, was the Guest of Honour, and other dignitaries present included Ravi Thakur (SDM, retired), Angrez Singh (Physical Director of the college), and other officials. The Chief Guest distributed trophies and medals to the winners and runners-up teams, while the office bearers of the Volleyball Association of J&K-Kuldeep Magotra (CEO), Ramesh Sharma (Treasurer), and VK Magotra (General Secretary)-honoured the dignitaries with mementos.
The Services of Mudasir Butt, Aftab Ahmed, Salma Rubi, Rajni Kotwal, Gulshan Ahmed, Amir Iqbal, Mohd Arif (Rana) utilized as technical officials for smooth conduct of the two days championship in which total 12 matches were played on knock out basis.

Refresher course for Reasi PETs by DYSS concludes
REASI: A five-day residential refresher course for Physical Education Teachers (PETs) and Rehbar-e-Khel (REK) officials concluded in district Reasi.
The program was designed to enhance participants’ instructional techniques, introduced them (PETs) to modern training methodologies, and equipped them to better nurture young talent.
Tarsem Singh, District Youth Services and Sports Officer (DYSSO) Reasi was special guest in the valedictory function of the course. Speaking to the gathering, he emphasized the importance of enhancing and updating the knowledge base of those technical individuals of the department.
The penal of resource persons included Ajay Billa, Ashoka Kumari, Madan Mohan, Balwan Singh, Romesh Kumar, Jagdev Singh, Arundev, and Rahul Bakshi. The programme was coordinated by Mohd. Raiz, Ankush Sharma, and Anoop Jyoti.
