JK Public School Kunjwani celebrates Diwali with enthusiasm

JAMMU: In a spirit of joy and reverence, JK Public School, Kunjwani, hosted a grand Diwali celebration on October 28, 2024, in the school premises, where students and staff gathered to celebrate the festival of lights with enthusiasm and devotion.
The other dignatories present were Principal JKPS Kunjwani Rajesh Rathore, Vice Principal Roopinder Kaur, School Coordinator Inderjeet Kaur, Primary wing Coordinator Anju Raj and Coordinator, Toddlers’ World Shivangani Pandotra.
The program began promptly at 8:00 AM, filling the air with a sense of unity and festive cheer.
The celebration commenced with a soulful prayer and the singing of the school song, setting a peaceful and uplifting tone for the day.
A ceremonial lamp lighting followed, symbolizing the triumph of knowledge over ignorance and good over evil. Anjali from Class XI delivered an insightful oration on Diwali, sharing the festival’s cultural significance and its underlying message of hope, kindness, and togetherness.
Adding a spiritual touch, students presented the Vakratunda Mahakaya Stotra and Shri Ram Stuti Stotra, enchanting the audience with their harmonious recitation.
The atmosphere resonated with reverence as students embodied the spirit of Diwali, reminding everyone of the blessings and values associated with the festival.
One of the highlights was a lively roleplay by toddlers, of the characters from the Ramayana, allowing students to relive the era, the presentation was both engaging and educative, drawing appreciative applause from the audience.
Young talents from the primary wing, Medhansh and Mahiyal, added charm to the event with a heartfelt speech and a beautifully composed poem, expressing their joy and excitement for Diwali. Amitesh’s melodious song performance further elevated the festive spirit, captivating everyone with his voice and adding a musical flavour to the celebration.
On this occasion, the school also hosted a Rangoli competition wherein all the four houses, Bhagat Singh, Radhakrishnan, Tagore and Tilak participated with enthusiasm showcasing their artistic talents. Students created an array of unique and vibrant Rangoli designs representing their respective houses. The event brought out the best in them, as they worked together in unity reflecting the true spirit of Diwali – the triumph of good over evil. Through their colourful and intricate designs, the students conveyed the message of love, harmony and togetherness.
The address of the Principal JKPS Kunjwani Rajesh Rathore served as a moment of reflection, as he encouraged students to embrace the true essence of Diwali by spreading love, compassion, and generosity. He stated, “Diwali is not only a festival of lights but also a time to reflect on our actions and contribute to the betterment of society. Let’s illumine the darkness within us. Let’s conquer our inner-self. Only enlightened individuals can help strengthen our society and contribute to the nation building process”.
“I appeal every child to celebrate an Eco-friendly Diwali. Less pollution from each individual will keep the atmosphere clean & healthy. Decorate your houses with rangolis, diyas, colourful festoons, paper lanterns and the like. Help your parents in preparing special dishes on this auspicious occasion. Distribute sweets & clothes to poor and downtrodden people. Visit any nearby Old age homes & spend some quality time with those lonely people”, he concluded.
The event reached its culmination point with the singing of the national anthem, filling the gathering with a sense of pride and unity.
