KATHUA: A meeting was held under the banner of the Jammu Kashmir Private Schools Association (JKPSA), Jammu before the formation of popular government in JKUT after 5 years.
Members of different schools briefed about the problems which have triggered for the private schools due to the unauthorized private schools viz pre primary, toddlers, franchisee and unrecognized schools established at every nook and corner. Schools which have very low enrollment and functioning in the remotest areas are the worst sufferer, they added.
President of the association, Ajay Gupta while speaking said to the members that government of erstwhile State of J&K issued the Jammu & Kashmir School Education Act 2002.
“In exercise of the powers conferred by the section 29 of the Act, Department of school Education before the creation of JKUT issued SRO 123 of 2010, SRO 292 of 2018 and which were challenged and stayed by the High Court of Jammu & Kashmir. But after the creation of JKUT officials at the helm issued circular 02 -SED of 2022, SO 177 of 2022, SO 233 of 2022 etc. on the hypothetical presumptions without knowing the logical end of the small schools which had been established in the far flung and the remotest areas of Jammu & Kashmir. No one was accountable as government has failed to provide single window, online and time bound mechanism to ease the work of private schools,” Ajay Gupta said.
Ajay Gupta appealed to the members to wait and watch till new popular government is formulated.
“We will oppose corruption and hypocrisy. We will fight with the tooth and nails to streamline the defunct education system of Jammu & Kashmir for survival of small private school owners who are solely dependent on this venture and are rendering yeomen services after charging meager amount,” Ajay Gupta said.
The prominent who attended the meeting included Sat Paul Mansotra (General Secretary JKPSA), Gaurav Charak (Publicity Secretary JKPSA), Dr. M M Sharma, Ram Parkash Sharma, Er. Narersh Kumar, Yash Paul Badyal, Parveen Kosar, Jasbir Singh, Ankur Arora, Chain Singh, Lawanya Khullar, Romi Sharma, Surinder Kumar, Vivek Mehra, Rajesh Kumar, Pardeep Sharma and Kushal Sharma.
