JAMMU: Truecaller has launched a new Verified Badge service for all Premium users in India, enhancing the platform’s identity verification process. This feature, which utilizes the government-backed Unified Payments Interface (UPI), allows users to confirm their identities by selecting the name they wish to display, ensuring authenticity through a reliable verification method akin to those used by major financial institutions.
Over the years, the Verified Badge has become highly coveted among Truecaller users, prompting the company to revamp its verification system. The new process is designed to meet the growing demand for transparency and accessibility in establishing digital identities. Rishit Jhunjhunwala, Chief Product Officer and MD, India, emphasized that this initiative directly addresses user feedback, offering a more trustworthy means to verify identities.
By integrating UPI-based verification, Truecaller aims to enhance the credibility of user profiles, empowering individuals to manage their digital presence with confidence. Jhunjhunwala stated, “This is a significant step forward in our vision of making communication safer for everyone.” The feature sets a new standard for trust in digital communications, providing users with recognition comparable to traditional identification methods.

This launch positions Truecaller as a potential leader in identity verification globally, reinforcing its commitment to secure and reliable digital interactions. With the Verified Badge, Truecaller is not only enhancing user trust but also striving to become one of the most dependable identifiers of user profiles on a global scale.
