LEH: Contractor, Tsering Angchuk, called on the Lieutenant Governor of Ladakh, Brigadier (Dr) BD Mishra (Retd) at the Lieutenant Governor’s Secretariat.
Commissioner/Secretary to the LG, Dr L Franklin; Secretary, PWD, Michael D’Souza, IS and Chief Engineer, PWD, Mutalib were present in the meeting.
Angchuk informed the LG about the non-payment of the civil works carried out by him in Skyu Nullah during the flood incident in 2022 He requested the LG’s intervention in the matter.
The LG inquired about the reason for the delay in making payment and asked Secretary PWD to collect the relevant documents. He also asked Angchuk to meet the Secretary PWD to ensure justice for him.
Legal Assistant aspirant Razia Parveen called on the Lieutenant Governor of Ladakh, Brigadier (Dr) BD Mishra (retd) at the LG Secretariat. Commissioner/ Secretary to the LG, Dr L Franklin, and Secretary, GAD, Michael D’Souza, were also in the meeting.
Razia informed the LG that she was selected as a Legal Assistant in the recruitment exam conducted by Staff Selection Commission. She also informed the HLG about the offer of appointment given to her but she is unable to join the post for unknown reasons.
Secretary GAD, Michael D’Souza informed the LG that Razia does not possess an ST certificate and she has been selected in the (Unreserved) UR category. He also informed that the ST candidates can also feature in the UR category based on their grades. He further informed the LG about the complications in her case.
The LG directed Secretary GAD to inform Assistant Secretary, Law Department to present the entire case to him in the presence of the Advisor to the HLG so that necessary action can be taken after fully understanding the matter.
