White Paper needed on Abdullah’s role in KP exodus

STATE TIMES NEWS

Q: How do you look at the election this time?

A: This election is unique because there is no boycott and no violence, unlike previous elections where the Abdullahs and Muftis managed to become Chief Ministers with only six percent to eight percent polling. People have rejected three families-Abdullahas, Muftis, Gandhis-and the polling reflects that sentiment. This is the first election where the people of Jammu and Kashmir are truly and fully participating and signaling the end of the Abdullah, Mufti, and the Gandhi era.

Q: What role will the Jammu region play in shaping the future government in J&K ?

A: For decades, the Abdullah, Mufti, and Gandhi dynasties kept ignoring the Jammu region because their focus has been in the Valley only. Consequently, we see there has been haphazard development and the Jammu region remained a deprived part.
Under BJP’s leadership, Jammu is finally receiving its fair share of respect and development. It is set to play an important role in shaping the future government of Jammu and Kashmir. The people of Jammu will have a significant say in forming the J&K government that promises inclusive representation and development. Unlike the previous dynastic parties that sidelined Jammu, the upcoming BJP led government will give equal representation and respect to all regions, especially Jammu. Today, Jammu is no longer ignored, and the balanced growth of the entire region is finally a reality.

Q: How is the BJP addressing the imbalance in tourism between Jammu and Kashmir and what steps are being taken for Jammu’s economic development?

A: Under previous governments, tourism was primarily focused on Kashmir, leaving Jammu overlooked. The BJP has worked hard to correct this imbalance by promoting tourism in areas like Bhadarwah, Bani, and the Pir Panjal region. We are ensuring that tourism is spread evenly across Jammu and Kashmir, showcasing the beauty of both regions while providing new economic opportunities for the people of Jammu. We have a clear vision for Jammu’s future development, including the creation of new tourist centers similar to Gulmarg and Pahalgam in the Jammu region. Major projects like a world-class Ayurvedic center in Kishtwar, a new airport in Jammu, and a metro system are underway. We are also developing Udhampur into a pharmaceutical hub and have established medical colleges, AIIMS, IIM, and IIT in Jammu to boost education and healthcare infrastructure.

Q: How does the BJP handle the large scale corruption charges against the NC, Congress, and PDP while they were in power ?

A: First of all a white paper on civilian killings by whoever was the Chief Minister needs to be brought. The second, when there was an exodus of 1.60 lakh Kashmiri Pandits from the Valley, Farooq Abdullah was the Chief Minister, and he should be held accountable. The culprits of this historic genocide must be brought to book. as justice needs to be served to the people who suffered.

Q: How does the BJP view the contribution of Jammu in integrating diverse communities, and how has the region contributed?

A: Jammu has always been a nationalist region that has embraced all communities, including Kashmiri Pandits, PoJK refugees, and others who sought refuge. Jammu is a symbol of unity and hospitality, and under the BJP, it will continue to be a place where diversity is celebrated. We will make Jammu and Kashmir a tourism capital of the world, welcoming visitors from all corners with pride.

Q: Why has there never been a Chief Minister from Jammu?

A: The reason there has never been a Chief Minister from Jammu is due to the dominance of the Abdullah, Mufti, and Gandhi families, who have manipulated the political landscape for decades. These families were more concerned with their interests than the fair representation of Jammu. They consistently discriminated against Jammu in terms of governance and development, but the BJP will set it right.

Q: What are the key infrastructural, educational, and tourism developments in Jammu under the Modi government, and how will they impact the people?

A: Under the visionary leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Jammu has undergone a remarkable transformation in infrastructure, education, and tourism. Projects like the Chenab Railway Bridge and the Delhi-Katra Greenfield Expressway have enhanced connectivity, making travel faster and more efficient. These projects not only contributed to tourism but also enhanced economic growth by improving access to trade and business, creating new opportunities for the people of Jammu.
The establishment of IIM and IIT in Jammu is a game-changer for the region. These world-class institutes are nurturing local talent, allowing youth to compete on a national and global platform. This is in alignment with PM Modi’s vision to empower Jammu youth through quality education and skill development.
The government is focused on promoting tourism with projects like the development of the Tawi Riverfront and initiatives in Doda, the Ayurvedic Park in Kishtwar, and the Pharmaceutical Park in Udhampur. These will transform Jammu into a vibrant tourism hub, attracting visitors from across India and the world. The resulting growth in tourism will create jobs, uplift local businesses, and generate significant revenue, helping Jammu become a major player in India’s tourism economy.

Q: What does the BJP have to say about the Congress party’s alliance with the National Conference (NC)? Do you consider them as threats to the BJP?

A: The Congress party has completely surrendered its manifesto, agenda, and ideology to the NC. The Congress now fully backs NC’s dangerous agenda, such as releasing jailed terrorists and stone-pelters, attempting to bring back Article 370 and removing the PSA Act. However, I want to make it clear that, even if the Abdullahs were to be born ten more times, and even after a hundred years, Article 370 would never return. The BJP stands firm on this, and we will protect the integrity of the nation.
The Abdullhs are cooking the stale dish on the topic of Statehood; it is already announced by our PM and Home Minister of our country. In what capacity are these Abdullahs trying to fool the people of Jammu and Kashmir? They have no vision for themselves and no agenda for their manifesto; they are just blinded by the support of Pakistan and China’s vested interests and lost in the game of elections. Hence, this repeated drama. BJP will form the government without these dynastic parties.

Q: How is the Modi government improving urban mobility, connectivity, and technology infrastructure in Jammu, and how will it benefit the people?

A: The Modi government is taking milestone steps to modernize Jammu’s infrastructure, focusing on both urban mobility and technological advancements. The Jammu Metrolite Project, set to be completed by 2026, will transform public transport, reducing traffic congestion and making commuting more efficient. Projects like the Sadhna Pass Tunnel and Katra-Banihal Railway Tunnel will drastically cut travel times, enhancing connectivity for residents and tourists alike. The government is establishing an IT hub in Jammu as a Special Economic Zone (SEZ), which will attract IT companies, create thousands of jobs, and train the youth with essential digital skills. These developments will improve accessibility and urban mobility and also position Jammu as a growing tech hub, offering opportunities for economic growth and improved quality of life for its citizens.

Q: In Jammu, the Congress is saying that people are upset with BJP. What is your response to this?

A: The Gupkar parties have repeatedly made the same claims, but the people have consistently rejected them. Whether in Panchayat, BDC, DDC, or Lok Sabha elections, support for these parties has significantly declined. Voter turnout has increased in these elections, and the people of J&K have overwhelmingly rejected dynastic and boycott politics. In the current assembly elections, voter participation has increased, and the BJP continues to gain strong ground support for our candidates.
