BJP will never allow revival of divisive politics in J&K: Dr Jitendra
STATE TIMES NEWS
BANI: Hitting out hard at the opposition, Union Minister Dr. Jitendra Singh said here on Monday that BJP will never allow revival of divisive politics in Jammu & Kashmir.
Addressing a series of meetings in far-flung areas of Bani Assembly constituency including hilly areas of Duggan, Dr Jitendra said that for over half a century, Congress and National Conference continued to perpetuate their rule by dividing the society the communal lines and instigating Muslims against Hindus and Hindus against Muslims. The Bani Assembly segment is an example of the composite culture where Hindus and Muslims have always lived together with harmony without allowing any mischief to divide them.
Dr Jitendra said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has with a lot of effort, commitment and conviction tried to create a new culture where the society lives in harmony and the benefits of the government reach every needy person regardless of caste, creed, religion or vote preference. Giving an example, he said, earlier in these hills only mud houses to be seen but today there is a beautiful scene of pucca houses constructed all over and the pucca houses have been constructed without consideration of whether the householder is a Hindu or a Muslim. Similarly, he said, the Gas cylinders under PM Ujjawala scheme have been provided to each household regardless of religion, caste or vote consideration.
Dr Singh cautioned the people that during this election time, there are some parties and candidates trying to provoke communal sentiments to gather votes. He asked them in an emotional tone, whether they would allow such sinful design to succeed which has the potential to ruin the mindset and upbringing of our children. On this, everybody raised their hands and said, “No”. Addressing the women folk in audience, Dr Jitendra said, National Conference manifesto supported by Congress says they will bring back 35 A and deprive our daughters of their property rights. He compared this with the Sankalp Patra issued by BJP, which promises a new scheme called “Man Samman Nidhi”, wherein the most elderly woman in the house would be offered financial assistance of Rs. 18000 per year as a mark of respect to motherhood. Appealing for a vote in support of BJP candidate Jeevan Lal, Dr Singh said, the message from these hills should be loud and clear that we are a part of Modi’s and our identity is that of proud Indians being led by the tallest leader of the world on the path of development.
