“Vijay ji, you rightly said that ‘Khand Meethe Log Dogre’. Indeed, Dogras are very nice and hospitable people, and we are happy to meet you again.”

NEW YORK: In an engaging conversation with Young Bites, renowned doctor couple Dr. Rajesh Gupta and Dr. Seema Gupta, originally from Jammu and Kashmir and now settled in the United States for several decades, shared their insights on various issues, reflecting on India’s growth and the cultural heritage of their roots.
This is not the first time the couple has interacted with Young Bites; they previously met during Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit to Washington D.C. in 2023.
The conversation began with a warm reference to the Dogri language and culture. Dr. Rajesh Gupta, acknowledging the warmth and hospitality of the Dogra people, said, “Vijay Ji, you rightly said that ‘Khand Meethe Log Dogre’. Indeed, Dogras are very nice and hospitable people, and we are happy to meet you again.”
Reflecting on India’s transformation under Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Dr. Rajesh Gupta expressed his satisfaction with the progress made. “We are very happy that Prime Minister Narendra Modi won the Lok Sabha election for the third time, especially securing two seats in Jammu and Kashmir.
Even now, as Kashmir prepares for elections, there is total peace, which marks a significant transformation.”
His wife, Dr. Seema Gupta, who hails from the erstwhile Doda district of Jammu and Kashmir, echoed similar sentiments. “The policies of Prime Minister Modi are right, and it is because of his leadership that India is emerging as a global power,” she said.
Dr. Seema also highlighted the importance of her niece, Shagun Parihar, being given a mandate by the BJP in the ongoing assembly elections, calling it a vital decision by the Modi government. Concluding her thoughts, Dr. Seema emphasized India’s rich and glorious history, stating, “India is destined to become a world power.”
The couple’s comments come at a time when the Indian diaspora remains deeply connected to their homeland, keeping a close watch on the country’s development under the current government.
