BUDGAM: With a view to promote sports culture and shun the drug menace spreading alarming among youths of J&K Union Territory, the District Budgam Volleyball Adhoc Committee under the banner of Volleyball Association of J&K (UT) sponsored by J&K Sports Council started, the District Budgam Volleyball Championship 2024 for Boys and Girls in Indoor Complex Budgam here. Around 20 team/clubs of District Budgam took part in the championship.
In all, 25 teams including 20 in boys and 05 in girls section displayed their skills in the championship.
Arshid Ahmad Incharge of District Budgam Volleyball Adhoc Committee and Tariq Ahmad (ZPEO) who were the Chief Guests, declared the championship opened and thanked the entire strength of association including the management of Sports Indoor Complex Budgam for holding the spirits of sportsmen high by way of conducting such type of championships in district budgam.
Arshid Ahmad Wani, Owner of Kashmir Elite Companies and Incharge District Budgam Volleyball Adhoc Committee, speaking on the occasion, urged upon the players to contribute their might for making the nation healthy and stronger by paying goodbye to drug menace.
All the today’s matches were officiated by State Referee; finally SPIKERS PUNCH OMPORA reached in Semi Finals by defeating Dandoosa VB Club by 2:1 , Garyand Spartan by defeating Elite VBC Doonwari by 2:1, Gotpora Super Giants by defeating Chadoora Nagam by 2:1 and Kashmir Elite VB Club Budgam by Walkover.
