REASI: The District Reasi Softball Championship 2024-25, organized by the District Reasi Softball Adhoc Association under the aegis of the J&K Softball Association and sponsored by the J&K Sports Council, concluded on Sunday at the Mini Sports Stadium in Pouni.
The event, conducted under the guidance of Waseem Raja Khan, General Secretary of the J&K Softball Association, and supervised by Organizing Secretary Opinder Singh, was marked by excitement and competitive spirit.
During the closing ceremony, the Chief Guest, Tehsildar Pouni, Sahil Randawa, congratulated the Reasi Softball Adhoc Association for organizing the event professionally.
He emphasized that regular district and club-level competitions would significantly elevate the status of softball, an Olympic sport, in the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir.
He also lauded the organizing team’s efforts in promoting sports and games while providing modern facilities to athletes, urging players to make full use of the resources provided by the Sports Council.
The Chief Guest distributed medals, trophies, and accolades to the winners and runners-up, encouraging them to continue honing their skills in the sport.
In the junior boys’ category, HSS Pouni Club emerged as the winner, with GMS Club as the runner-up. In the girls’ event, Kheralair Club clinched the top spot, while Khalar School Club finished as the runner-up.
The officials for the matches included Ajay Salathia, Pardeep Singh, Sagar Singh, Deep Singh, Mohit Sharma, and Sonali Sharma.
