LEH: The Lieutenant Governor of Ladakh, Brigadier (Dr) BD Mishra (Retd) attended the closing ceremony of the 11th edition of Ladakh Marathon at the NDS Stadium where he felicitated the winners with medals and certificates. Chairman/CEC, LAHDC Leh, Advocate Tashi Gyalson; Councillor, Lower Leh, Tsering Namgyal; Secretary, Youth Services and Sports/Tourism, Vikram Singh Malik, IAS and Founder, Ladakh, Marathon, Chewang Motup Goba were among those present during the closing ceremony.
Congratulating the winners, runners-up and participants of the Ladakh Marathon, the HLG expressed his happiness about the participation of a large number of runners in the Marathon. Calling the Ladakh Marathon a big event, the HLG hoped to see Ladakhi youth emerge as winners in the Marathon in future.
Seeking cooperation from the people of Ladakh to help Ladakhi youth excel in sports, the HLG also stated that he and the Hill Council Leh led by CEC/Chairman, Advocate Tashi Gyalson would extend all possible support for the cause so that Ladakhi youth can bring laurels to Ladakh and the nation.
The LG hoped to see an increase in the number of participants along with the improvement in the timing in the next edition of Ladakh Marathon.
The LG also felicitated the winners and runners-ups and distributed medal, certificates and cheques among them.

Open Male: Nawang Tsering (02:44:06), 1st, Anil Jindal (03:02:28), 2nd and Manzoor Hussain (03:06:42), 3rd.
Veteran Female: Shamala Manmohan (05:33:41), 1st, Monika Rohrlack (06:00:28), 2nd and Mary Joshy (06:12:47) ), 3rd.
Veteran Male: Yaswant Rawat (04:23:46), 1st, Ashok Popli (05:03:51), 2nd and Randeep Arora (05:04:53) ), 3rd. The winners of Half Marathon:
Open Female: Tashi Ladol (01:29:52), 1st, Stanzin Chondol (01:34:03), 2nd and Stanzin Dolkar (01:34:11) ), 3rd.
Open Male: Tsetan Namgyal (01:17:35), 1st Tsewang Nangdan (01:17:59), 2nd and Anurag Konkar (01:18:27) ), 3rd.
Veteran Female: Vidya Sundareswara (02:08:34), 1st Sumita Balooni (02:23:11), 2nd and Dr Antje Kramer (02:53:45) ), 3rd.
Veteran Male: Sukhjinder Jaspal (02:04:15), 1st, Swapan Das (02:05:48), 2nd and Deepak Raja (02:6:06), ), 3rd.
