JAMMU: “Optimism sees possibilities, realism sees probabilities. Together they navigate the path to success”. Such opening statement witnessed the assembly proceedings on a brighter note by Prakriti Sharma of Grade XI Science.
“Life is a journey filled with twists, turns and unexpected detours. As I traverse the intricate web of experiences, challenges and joys, I have come to adopt a philosophy that blends optimism with a healthy dose of realism”, stated the budding poet Archit from the class.
“In the words of Walt Disney, ‘I always like to focus on the optimistic side of life, but I am realistic enough to know that life is a complex matter’. This sentiment resonates with me on a deeply personal level, shaping the way I approach the intricacies of existence”, he added.
Reflecting on the topic further, another brilliant student Ananya said, “In my journey so far, I have encountered moments that tested the limits of my optimism. Life’s complexities manifested in unexpected setbacks. Yet, it is precisely in these times, the realistic side of me acknowledges that life is a complex tapestry woven with threads of joy and sorrow. It’s an intricate dance between success and failure, growth and stagnation, love and heartbreak. Embracing this complexity allows me to navigate the uncertainties with a clear-eyed understanding, appreciating that the beauty of life often lies in its multifaceted nature”. “Optimism becomes a guiding force, steering an individual towards solutions and possibilities even when the path ahead seems obscured. It’s the belief that setbacks are temporary, and with resilience and determination, one may overcome any obstacle”, pitched in Prakriti.
“Realism, on the other hand, tempers this optimism, grounding me in the present and encouraging a pragmatic assessment of the situation. It’s the acknowledgment that some challenges may persist, requiring patience and adaptability”, she added.
Principal JKPS Kunjwani, Rajesh Rathore applauded students for presenting an extremely thought provoking assembly and shared his perspective with the audience. “Optimism ought to be our trusted companion, a beacon of light in the darkest hours.
It’s the unwavering belief that no matter how stormy be the seas, there’s a silver lining, waiting to reveal itself. This mindset isn’t about ignoring the complexities or challenges that life throws our way; rather, it’s a conscious decision to focus on the positive aspects, no matter how small, in the face of adversity”.
“Never lose hope. Stay optimistic in the moments of crises. Always have faith in your indomitable spirit and unflinching self-belief. With lessons learnt from the past and excitement for the future, let’s usher into the ongoing journey to write the most exciting chapter of life with interplay of optimism, realism, and life’s vibrant tapestry”, he concluded.
