Dr Jitendra conferred ‘American College of Physicians’ prestigious ‘Distinguished Mentor’ award

LUCKNOW: Union Minister Dr. Jitendra Singh, a prominent Professor of Medicine and Diabetes, was honoured with the “Distinguished Mentor of the Year” award by the American College of Physicians (ACP) during its 9th Annual International Conference of ACP-India Chapter. The accolade was presented by Dr. Elisa I. Choi on behalf of ACP.
In his address, Dr. Singh lauded India’s growing leadership in global health research and its significant contributions to medical science, research, and education.
He emphasized the crucial role of collaboration between public and private sectors, as well as international partnerships, to advance medical sciences.
Dr. Singh highlighted the success of India’s space sector under Prime Minister Modi, noting substantial private investment and the rise of Space Startups. He also discussed the dual challenge of non-communicable and communicable diseases in India, contrasting it with the evolving health issues in Western countries.
He called for strengthened India-USA collaboration, leveraging India’s cost-effective research, diverse medical conditions, and traditional knowledge.
Dr. Singh stressed the importance of preventive healthcare for the younger generation to contribute effectively to nation-building. He also noted the growing sectoral collaborations, such as the involvement of Indian astronaut Group Captain Shukla in missions to the International Space Station.
