JAMMU: The “My Youth My Pride” Phase-IV 2024 Special Summer Activities officially kicked off with a hockey tournament at KK Hakku Stadium in Jammu, which saw over 125 players, 12 officials, and a spirited crowd of 150 spectators.
Over two days, six men’s teams and two women’s teams competed fiercely, culminating in an exciting finale.
In the men’s section, GNN Hockey Club triumphed over Bandhurakh Hockey Club with a 2-1 victory, while in the women’s section, KIC Women’s Team Jammu dominated Sahara Warrior Hockey Team with a commanding 7-0 win.
The closing ceremony featured notable guests including Hanif, Chief Sports Officer of J&K Sports Council, Rajiv Sharma, Member of the J&K Sports Council, and Baljinder Singh, District Sports Officer Jammu, among others.
The event was expertly supervised by a team of dedicated coaches and managers, including Sushma Jamwal, Chief Basketball Coach, and Jagjit Singh, Hockey Coach, with technical guidance provided by Saksham Sharma, Sukhchinder Singh, and their colleagues.
The local community, participants, and spectators expressed their gratitude to Secretary of the Sports Council, Nuzhat Gul, for her commitment to fostering youth talent and organizing such impactful events.
The successful start of these activities promises an engaging and inspiring month ahead.
