Sisodia granted conditional bail on Rs 10 lakh bond, not cleared of charges: Chugh

CHANDIGARH: BJP National General Secretary Tarun Chugh on Friday said that Delhi’s former Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia’s has been granted conditional bail by surrendering his passport and providing Rs 10 lakh bond.
Reacted to the grant of bail, Chugh emphasized that Sisodia and the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) should remember that he has not been acquitted of charges and has not been declared innocent. He is merely out on bail, he added.
Chugh criticized the Aam Aadmi Party for portraying the conditional bail of Sisodia as a victory, saying he has been in jail for 17 months on charges related to the liquor scam, fraud, and forgery. He argued that this is not a victory, noting that the political party, which came to power on the promise of eradicating corruption, now finds itself entangled in corruption allegations, with many members of the party and half of the cabinet either in jail or on bail.
Chugh highlighted that the court has acknowledged the extensive evidence in the liquor scam case, including chats, details of bribe money usage, and the origins of the money. The case has connections to several states, including Delhi, Telangana, Goa, and Punjab, he said. Chugh also accused the Aam Aadmi Party of failing to fulfill its promises made during the formation of governments in Delhi and Punjab. He criticized the party for setting new records in corruption, stating that Punjab is increasingly burdened by debt while the Bhagwant Mann government remains inactive.
