SAMBA: Organised by the Samba Weightlifting Association, the District Championship concluded at Indoor Sports Complex, here under the aegis of J&K Weightlifting Association and sponsored by J&K Sports Council (JKSC).
In the closing function, president Rajput Sabha, Narayan Singh was Chief Guest, who presented medals and certificates to the winners of men and women sections.
In total, 60 lifters turned out for the event and contested in different weight categories in this day-long event. President District Samba Weightlifting Association, Jangbir Singh briefed the gathering about the competition.
Earlier, the event was declared open by Association president, Harbhajan Singh in the presence of office of Samba District Association. Among others present were Amit Sharma, Dayal Singh, Dilip Singh Parveen Kumar, Naman Singh, Manish Charak and Bhuvneshwar Singh.

Women: 40 kg: Priayanka Rajput, Ist; Garima Sharma, 2nd. 45 kg: Akriti Sharma, Ist and Minakshi Rajput, 2nd. 55 kg: Anamika Rajput, Ist. 59 kg: Ritika Kumar, Ist (Youth) and Pratha Jasrotia, 2nd (Junior). 71 kg: Gurpreet Kour, Ist. 76 kg: Nitika Sharma, Ist.
