JAMMU: The Sawan Mahotsav at the historic Panjvaktra Mahadev Mandir continues to captivate hearts and souls with its series of devotional events.
Temple on Monday once again drew devotees and music enthusiasts for an enchanting Bhajan Sandhya, part of the ongoing Sawan Mahotsav-2024 Series.
The devotional evening featured renowned artists who mesmerized the audience with their performances.
The program commenced with a soulful performance by Dr. Jasmeet Kaur, a distinguished classical singer and daughter of the renowned singer Sudarshan Kour Keerti.
As a disciple of the celebrated classical vocalist Pandit Rajan Sajan Mishra, Dr. Jasmeet Kaur’s melodious voice captivated the audience, creating an atmosphere of spirituality and bliss.
Her performance not only honored her esteemed lineage but also showcased her own remarkable talent and dedication to classical music.
Pankaj Pradhan, another acclaimed classical singer of the soil, disciple of V.S. Sambyal and Guru B.S. Bali, further enhanced and enriched the evening. His rich, resonant voice and emotive renditions immersed the audience in profound devotion and peace.
The performances accompanied by the melodic tunes of Guru Ashutosh Sharma on Harmonium, Guru Parshotam Kumar on Pakhawaj, Dr. Vinay on Tabla, and Rakesh Jasotra on Flute.
The evening reached its crescendo with a mesmerizing Bharatnatyam performance by the talented Pallabi Das Ghosh. Her graceful movements and expressive artistry beautifully complemented the devotional music, leaving the devotees spellbound.
The Sawan Mahotsav at Panjvaktra Mahadev Mandir is a platform to celebrate Jammu’s rich cultural heritage while fostering devotion. It offers devotees a unique opportunity to immerse themselves in the beauty of classical arts and spiritual music.
A large number of devotees, music lovers, and members of civil society thronged the open-air performance space in the ancient Panjvaktra Mahadev Mandir. Eminent persons present on the occasion included members of the Shri Kailakh Jyotish Avim Vedic Sansthan Trust, including Mahant Rohit Shastri, along with K K Sharma, who distributed Sanskrit books to the students of the Gurukul being run on the temple premises.
The event’s proceedings were skillfully conducted by Raj Kumar Behrupia.
Speaking on the occasion, Suresh Kumar Sharma (Retd. Session Judge) and Receiver of Panjvaktra Mahadev Mandir, expressed his delight at the overwhelming response from the devotees.
He said, “With Mahadev’s blessings, these programs are witnessing tremendous success. The performances tonight have truly been exceptional, and I applaud all the participants for their dedication and talent. Their contributions have significantly enhanced the spiritual and cultural fabric of the community. We have many more excellent performances lined up for the coming Mondays of Sawan, and we invite everyone to join us for these spiritually enriching evenings.”
