RAJOURI: District Development Commissioner, Rajouri convened a meeting of the district officers to discuss the measures to be taken for assessment and enumeration of damages caused by flash floods in district Rajouri so as to provide timely relief to the affected ones.
In the meeting, DDC constituted Tehsil wise committees of officers of different departments, to conduct intensive tour of the flood affected areas and to hold camps at such places to locate the flood affected people of these rural and far off pockets so that the affected could be provided relief and rehabilitation services well in time.
DDC also exhorted upon the officers to contribute their services by helping the affected people and asked the committees for early submission of details of losses caused to property and crops to his office. He said that the main duty at this time is to locate flood affected to provide timely information to his office so as to assist him in making realistic assessment of the affected areas and in organising systematic relief operation amongst the affected people.
DDC also assured of all required help by the administration and asked people of the area not to visit any office for relief as the same will be distributed only after the assessment of losses being done by the committees framed for the assessment of losses during flash flood.
