4 J&K Fencers leave for New Zealand

JAMMU: Outstanding young J&K Fencers, Shreya Gupta, Harshit Kohli, Chavvi Sharma and Sufyan Waheed Sohil today left for Junior and Cadet Commonwealth Fencing Championships starting at Christchurch in New Zealand tomorrow. It was for the first time that four players with J&K registration have been selected for international championship, organised by Commonwealth Fencing Federation. Presently Shriya Gupta trained and practising at NCOE Vijay Bharti Sanskrdham Gujarat; Sufyan Waheed at National Centre of Excellence Patiala while Harshit Kohli and Chavvi Sharma are trained under Ujjwal Gupta, former International fencer. Meanwhile, senior fencing coaches of J&K Sports Council, Rachna Jamwal and Shotu Lal Sharma, who trained these fencers at young, wished them success.
