JKKKA celebrates National/International Kho Kho Day

JAMMU: The Jammu Kashmir Kho-Kho Association (JKKKA) on Sunday commemorated National/International Kho-Kho Day with fervour, hosting a Triangular Kho-Kho Tournament for Sub Junior Boys.
This event, held to promote the traditional Indian sport and celebrate its significance, featured intense competition among participating teams, culminating in NIS Club emerging victorious with a notable 5-point lead over their competitors.
The President of JKKKA, Dr. Baljinder Kour presided over the event, welcoming Kho Kho players and delivering an inspiring address on the virtues of the sport. She highlighted Kho Kho as not only a physical activity but also a discipline that fosters character-building and keeps participants away from negative influences.
Her words motivated the players to continue dedicating themselves to Kho Kho, emphasizing its role in promoting a healthy lifestyle and community spirit.
A significant aspect of the event was the distribution of medals to the winners, a gesture aimed at recognizing and rewarding the efforts of the participating teams and individuals.
The ceremony was graced by dignitaries including B.S Tirthi, the Founder of JK Kho Kho, and Amrinder Pal Singh, the General Secretary of JKKKA.
Also present were Pankaj Malhotra, an International Player, Tarmeet Raina (Joint Secretary), and coaching staff including Dheeraj Sharma, Coach of JKKKA, and mentors like Sunil Sharma (SAI Club) and Rohit Sharma (NIS).
The tournament not only showcased competitive prowess but also underscored the importance of sports in fostering camaraderie and sportsmanship among youth.
It provided a platform for young athletes to demonstrate their skills and dedication, contributing to the promotion and preservation of Kho Kho as a cultural sport in Jammu and Kashmir.
