Hails Om Birla’s re-election as Speaker, condemns Owaisi for eulogizing foreign country

JAMMU: BJP National General Secretary Tarun Chugh on Wednesday welcomed the CBI investigations and action against Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal in the Liquor Scam, saying this is necessary as the poor people and tax payers have been fleeced to further the political agenda.
Replying to queries by media, Tarun Chugh said the Enforcement Directorate has already booked Kejriwal in the scam on the basis of concrete proof against him as person and as Chief Minister of Delhi. He said prima facie he has emerged as a kingpin in the scam.
On the re-election of Om Birla as Speaker Lok Sabha, Chugh said that this is a reflection of the unity of National Democratic Alliance under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. He exuded confidence that the Prime Minister will continue to work for the upliftment and empowerment of youth, farmers, women and poor in his third term with much more focus as has been done during the previous two tenures.
Condemning the eulogizing of a foreign country during the oath taking ceremony as Member Parliament by Asaduddin Owaisi, Chugh described the act as an insult to the highest temple of democracy. This is unconstitutional and unparliamentarily. Raising slogans in support of a foreign country in Parliament entails disqualification as a Member, he said and sought stern action against Owaisi.
