City Traffic police reviews regulation plan ahead of SANJY-2024

JAMMU: In view of ensuing Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra (SANJY-2024) scheduled to commence from June 28, a meeting was convened by SSP Traffic City Jammu here in the Conference Hall of District Police Lines Gandhi Nagar to brief the subordinate formations about their duties and deployment during the annual pilgrimage.
The meeting was attended by Raj Paul Singh Addl. SP Traffic City Jammu; Bikram Kumar, I/C SP Traffic City South Jammu; Farha Nishat, Dy. SP Traffic City North Jammu and all other GOs and NGOs attached for special duty on SANJY-2024.
At the outset, the participants were briefed regarding the challenges and issues which were faced by Traffic during previous year Amarnath Yatra.
The officers were directed to clear all sorts of obstructions/wrong parking from Yatra route well in time besides ensuring hassle free movement of Yatra Convoys.
The participants were further directed to take strict action against overloading/ overcharging by passenger vehicles as well as by Auto Rickshaws and E-rickshaws under the provisions of M.V Act/rule. SSP Traffic urged all the officers/ officials to remain extra-vigilant and proactive in their duties, emphasizing the importance of coordination and timely response to avert any kind of exigency.
Strict directions were given to all the officers that no any kind of vehicle except emergency vehicles shall be allowed to move on NHW after cut off time. All the participants were directed to remain in best turnout and to behave properly/politely when the vehicles were stopped during cut off time.
In the end, SSP Traffic extended his best wishes to all the officers/ officials for forthcoming Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra-2024.
