AAP patronising drug mafias in Punjab: Chugh
‘4 deaths in 5 days in Tarn Taran alarming’
STATE TIMES NEWS
CHANDIGARH: BJP National General Secretary Tarun Chugh on Friday strongly condemned the Bhagwant Mann government for its failure to contain the problem of drugs in the State.
Taking strong exception to the fact that four drug addicts died in Tarn Taran in the last five days, Chugh said alarming signals have been coming from all parts of the State but the entire government machinery has failed to check the drug menace in Punjab.
He said recently a video of a drug addict woman went viral in Amritsar, which conveyed a shocking message to the entire State that the drug problem has penetrated seriously among the girls also.
Chugh said similar news pours from other parts of the State as well, giving an impression that the AAP government has been patronising drug mafias in Punjab. He said drug mafias apparently enjoy political support of the AAP government.
Thousands of families in the State have been ruined due to the problem of drugs in Punjab in the recent past and it is time the Bhagwant Mann government took serious steps to contain the problem, Chugh added.
