JAMMU: AICC Senior Leader & Incharge JK affairs Bharat Sinh Solanki, while paying rich tributes to Dr B R Ambedkar, on Sunday stated that the Constitution crafted & drafted by him kept our diverse nation united and strong after independence but there are threats to the Constitution and the unity of the country by the forces creating hatred and division.
Addressing a large gathering at Suchetgarh today to observe the birth anniversary of the father of the Constitution Dr Bhim Rao Ambedkar, Solanki said that the Constitution represents the aspirations of all diverse sections of the pluralist India and is a sacred book of rights of all.
Dr Ambedkar was chosen to incorporate the aspirations of this greatly diverse nation while drafting the Constitution and he did it so perfectly along with great stalwarts of the time that everyone in the country is satisfied with the fundamental document.
He said Congress is committed not only to safeguard Constitution but further strengthen it as announced in the guarantee card of this election.
AICC Secretary Manoj Yadav also paid rich tributes to Dr Ambedkar and said that congress is always committed to safeguard it and safeguard the rights of all especially downtrodden and weaker sections of society.
Any attempt to weaken it would be thwarted but cautioned people to remain alert & , united for the cause of Constitution, democracy and unity in diversity.
Former Deputy Chief Minister and Chairman PCC campaign committee Tara Chand said the Constitution is the soul of the nation and any attempt to weaken it would be disastrous for the unity and integrity of the nation.
He said that people of all sections of this country respect & follow the Constitution but Modi government wanted to dilute the rights enshrined in the Constitution but people will always resist such attempts under the leadership of Congress for which people need to bring INDI Alliance to power this time.
Function was organised by Former MP T S Bajwa, Bhushan Dogra besides T S Tony, Shashi Sharma, Karan Bhagat, Ch Hussain ali waffa, Rajveer Singh, Jatin K Raina, Sahil Sharma, Sdr Ravinder Singh, Daleep Kumar, Charanjeet Bhagat, Jatinder Bhagat, Khushal Bali and various other leaders attended.
Raman Bhalla said that Congress will never allow BJP and it’s sister concerns to dilute the Constitution and asked people to be United and strong to defeat such attempts.
Remembering the contribution of Dr Ambedkar, Bhalla said that it was Constitution which made the country strong and united and each section progressed but more to be done.
Referring to the hardships of refugees in a meeting at Badyal Brahmna organised by Working President DCC Badri Nath Sharma, Bhalla said that BJP has snatched their rights to sell their land which was availed by them for seventy years and gave only meagre Rs 5 lakh out of Rs 30 lakh recommended by Congress government. He said he & Congress is committed for full package and further rights to them.
Senior Vice President & Chief spokesperson Ravinder Sharma strongly pleaded for refugees unity for getting justice and due rights and hit out BJP for betrayal with them after getting votes. He assured to jointly fight for them.
Later addressing a gathering at Ghou manhassn Marh organised by former minister & Senior vice President Mula Ram, Bhalla said that so long Congress is strong, the Constitution and the nation is strong and united.
He appealed people not to fall prey to the divisive and opportunist politics of BJP which has deprived people of Dogra identity and status and rights to land and jobs.
The poor people are being evicted of their land holdings and resources being looted making locals jobless, landless and other rights enjoyed by several states in the country.
Mula Ram paid rich tributes Dr Ambedkar and asked people to be aware of the attempts to dilute the rights of common man especially Dalits and other downtrodden sections of the society. He asked them to vote decisively and elect congress party in both seats. Several other speakers paid tributes including Th Hari Singh vice President PCC & others.
