Five dead, 5 injured after cab fell into gorge

DODA: In a tragedy, five persons were killed, while five others were injured in a road mishap in Doda district on Saturday evening.
While confirming the news, SHO Thathri Suresh Gautam said that an Eco vehicle bearing registration number JK06A 3089 was on its way to Karhawa from Thathri how’ver when reached Wanipura met with an accident.
The officer said that in the mishap ten persons were critically injured and were immediately taken to nearby hospital where doctors declared five injured as brought dead.
The police officer also confirmed the identification of all deceased as Mukhtiyar Ahmed (28), son of Abdul Gani, resident of Bandoga, baby girl daughter of Mohd Amir, Riyaz Ahmed, son of Abdul Gani, resident of Phagsoo, Ireena Begum, wife of Saddam Hussain, resident of Gunthi and Mohd Rafi, son of Abdul Rehman, resident of phagsoo.
The official also identified all injured as Injured Mohd Amir, son of Mohd Shafi, resident of Phagsoo, baby girl age approximately 10, baby girl age 8, Sufiyan Sheikh, son of Bashir Ahmed, resident of Behndoga Age 24 and Saima Begum, wife of Mohd Amir.
LG expresses grief over loss of lives
JAMMU: The Lieutenant Governor, Manoj Sinha, has expressed grief over the loss of lives in a road accident in Doda.
In a condolence message, the Lt Governor said:
“I am deeply grieved and shocked at the tragic loss of lives and injuries resulting from the unfortunate road accident at Phagsoo, Doda today. I convey my heartfelt condolences to the members of the bereaved families and pray for the speedy recovery of the injured. I have issued instructions to District Administration to provide all necessary assistance, as provided in rule, to the affected persons”.
