Nation needs Modi Govt for development, global recognition: Sukhnandan
STATE TIMES NEWS
JAMMU: Former Minister and senior BJP leader Choudhary Sukhnandan Kumar said country needs Narendra Bhai Modi as the Prime Minister for the third time for development and our country’s global recognition and I appeal to the people of Jammu and Kashmir to vote for BJP.”
Criticizing the Congress, Sukhnandan Kumar while addressing at Makwal Camp (Tawi Island) and Sohajana village, said, in view of the development and peace agenda of PM Narendra Modi, the entire agenda of INDI Alliance has fallen flat.
All the three parties, National Conference, PDP and Congress, have fallen apart in J&K after claiming to be part of INDI Alliance. Only BJP would be steering J&K forward in the forthcoming elections under the leadership of PM Modi whose vision and policies have given a new face to the Union territory, he added.
Sukhnandan said INDI Alliance is a hoax being played on the country whereas BJP has ushered in a new era of development and progress.
In J&K, a new chapter has been written under which Pak-sponsored terrorism has been replaced by Modi-guided tourism and all-round development of the Union Territory, he added.
The Congress led governments in the past exploited the Hindu and Muslim communities for their vote bank interests, it is for the first time after independence that Prime Minister Narendra Modi gave the same esteem to every section of society.
As for the Jammu and Kashmir is concerned, Sukhnandan said, from a neglected area, it has emerged as power hub and has undergone amazing transformation in the last 10 years.
Jammu and Kashmir all set to emerge North India’s major “power hub” generating around 6,000 MW of power after the completion of the ongoing power projects.
Six to seven major Hydro power projects have come in the region in a short span of 9 to 10 years ever since Modi took over as Prime Minister.
Elaborating on this, he pointed out that the largest capacity project is Pakal Dul with a capacity of 1000 MW. Its estimated cost, as of now, is Rs.8,112.12 crore and expected timeline of competition is 2025. Another major project is Kiru Hydroelectric project with a capacity of 624 MW. The estimated cost of the project is Rs. 4,285.59 crore and the timeline in this case is also 2025, he said.
For six long decades, said Sukhnandan Kumar, the successive governments at the Centre and the State had ignored Jammu region because of their vote bank politics.
