Mukhtar Ansari’s death has become a big news dominating electronic media channels triggering off debate over his death. Natural death may come anywhere and anytime. May be in places of worship, work place, prisons, at home or anywhere and at any time. Heart attack or cardiac arrest may take place anywhere and any time. Mukhtar Ansari has reportedly died of cardiac arrest. Opposition parties are doing their best to project it as an unnatural death and make a non-issue an issue . Ansari was nightmarish to the people. Out of 65 cases registered, he was convicted in 8 cases and was undergoing sentence. His first case was at the age of 17 years and his first conviction was at the age of 61 years. He was convicted of murdering UPPC chief Ajay Rai’s brother Awadhesh Rai and convicted for kidnapping coal tycoon Nand Kishore Rungta. He had ordered the killing of BJP MLA Krishnanand Rai. The news report says that he had purchase a machine gun in 2004 to kill the BJP MLA. TV channels showed Ansari riding open jeep with gun. Four decades of Ansari’s reign of terror has come to an end but the sympathy of opposition parties at his death has started rising. Mulayam Singh Yadav had saved and supported Ansari. He was de facto ruler from inside jail. Mafias had upper hand and they used to direct the police at that time. He had wanted terror charges removed. Where is the need to sympathize with the death of a convicted criminal? The opposition parties are crying at his death. AIMIM chief Asaduddin Owaisi has prayed Allah to forgive him. The crimes perpetrated by Ansari were not unpardonable to Owaisi. He prays Allah to accept his martyrdom. He has viewed his death as martyrdom as if Ansari fought for the freedom of the country and renounced his life. Perhaps nobody would have prayed for anybody’s good if there would have been certainty of prayer heard by the Almighty fulfilling the wishes. Pardon or punishment will be the result of good or bad deeds done. Judicial probe has commenced to ascertain if there was any medical negligence and also to know if he was poisoned as alleged by Ansari’s kin. Akhilesh Yadav, SP Chief has been insisting for Supreme Court monitored probe. Akhilesh says that UP government has no right to remain in power. Right to remain in power has come from the people, not from Akhilesh. It is not for Akhilesh to decide. If the death of a criminal in prison due to natural death can strip the power of a political party, then there can be no party to remain in power at all. No person has right to remain in power if he or she sympathizes with the criminals. Sympathy with criminals contributes for the abetment of crime. BSP Chief Mayawati presses for high-level enquiry for the death of Ansari. Tejashwi Yadav claims that Ansari had complained of poisoning and his complaint was not taken seriously. He never revealed this when Ansari was alive. Congress leader Pappu Yadav describes the natural death as institutional murder. The buck does not stop at this. He further says that the death of Ansari is like burying the Law, Constitution and Natural Justice. RSSP chief S P Maurya says that the murders are perpetrated in jail. People are not insensitive to understand that no politician is worried about the death of anyone. They are prepared to kill and be killed for the sake of power if it can generate public sympathy and converting such public sympathy into votes. The death of a criminal hardly matters to them also. But all those who are expressing sympathy with the dead are making use of the opportunity to take on the government. In the case of Ansari’s death also, the opposition parties have found opportunity in difficulty. All these opposition parties are never bothered about Kulbhushan Jadhav languishing in Pakistan jail. They have no time to urge the government to keep the issue alive to get Jadhav released from Pakistan jail. How Sarabjit Singh was tortured to death in Pakistan jail can never be forgotten. Opposition parties are crying over the death of a criminal rather than keeping the Jadhav issue alive till he is released from Pakistan jail. Misplaced sympathy and misplaced priority are very dangerous.
