Mamma Club Judda lifts Reasi District Volleyball Championship trophy

REASI: Mamma Club Judda was declared District Reasi Volleyball champion as it defeated Arnas Volleyball club by 3-1 sets scoring 25-15, 25-16, 26-28 and 25-23 in the final match of Reasi District Volleyball Championship held at General Zorawar Singh Stadium, on Monday.
Additional Deputy Commissioner Reasi, Kulbushan Khajuria was the Chief Guest at the closing ceremony of the two-day Reasi District Volleyball Championship organised by Volleyball Association of Jammu and Kashmir in collaboration with Jammu Kashmir Sports Council and district administration.
The Chief Guest appreciated the role of Volleyball Association of J&K officials for spreading the ideals of sports and fitness in their outreach programmes all across JKUT including Reasi District. He also lauded the organisers for promoting the volleyball game in far flung areas of the district by inviting 12 teams.
The chief guest strongly advocated for inculcating competitive spirits among youths in Nation building besides sports culture for their overall development as well as to keep them away from social evils like drug menace.
The ADC urged upon the youth to focus on their goals and put in dedicated efforts to compete and excel at national and international levels. He asked them to channelize their energies in a positive direction and create a niche for themselves in the sports of their interest.
The Chief Guest gave away prizes, trophies and medals to winner and runner up teams and assured the youth/sports lovers for all type of support for promotion of sports including volleyball game in the district from the administration.
Yash Paul, former President Reasi Municipality and Senior Volleyball player of J&K and Dalbir Mehta, Manager Sports Stadium Reasi were the Guests of Honour.
The Chief Guest and Guests of Honour were honoured with memento by Kuldeep Magotra, Chief Executive Officer, V.K Magotra General Secretary and Akbar Ali Office Secretary of Volleyball Association of J&K.
Earlier in semi final matches, Arnas Volleyball Club defeated Bakal Volleyball Club by 2-1 (23-25, 25-19, 15-11) and Mamma Volleyball Club Judda defeated Shajroo Volleyball Club by 2-0 (25-22, 25-18).
Welcoming the dignitaries, V.K Magotra disclosed that in this two-day Championship 12 teams of district Reasi participated and displayed their skills of game which were highly appreciated by the audience.
Interacting on the occasion, Kuldeep Magotra apprised the sports lovers that J&K is scaling new heights in volleyball game with the participation of more and more players at national and international levels besides creating history in the recent past by securing bronze medal in recently held 48th National Junior Volleyball Championship in boys section. The Volleyball Association of J&K is living no stone unturned in promoting volleyball all across JK UT, he asserted.
The matches were officiated by Manjyot Singh, Jamrot and Karan Rajput who were also honoured with mementos.
