JAMMU: The employees of Dharmarth Trust staged a demonstration on eighth consecutive day, seeking intervention of Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha in resolving various demands including constitution of a Board at pattern of Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board for all temples under the management of the Dharmarth Trust.
A large number of employees of Dharmarth Trust including priests and others assembled at Shalamar, under the banner of Dharmarth Trust Employees Association and Bhartiya Mazdoor Sangh (BMS), and raised slogans against the Dharmarth Trust and in favour of their demands. “It is very unfortunate that the employees of the Dharmarth Trust are forced into the streets by the rigid attitude of the management which has failed to address their genuine issues,” they said, demanding merger of all Dharmarth Trust temples with SMVDSB for their proper development.
All employees decided in one voice to hold a strong agitation door-to-door against all political parties to wake them up from deep slumbers on December 11.
They demanded reinstating of all five employees of Trust who were terminated without any intimation. They urged Lt Governor to nominate a Government receiver till a Board is constituted. President Vivek Bandral and General Secretary Suneet Sharma alleged that trust management is responsible for making trust financial weak due to their mismanagement and wrong policies.
Ex-president, Kernail Chand and ex-General Secretary Pritam Sharma, while addressing the employees, said that mismanagement in the Trusts is on peak and demanded CBI enquiry to check the multi-crore scam in the trust so that truth comes out at the earliest in front of public.
